Mary Heysek, proudly joined the United Food Bank Board of Directors in 2011 and has been the Executive Director since 2016. Prior to that she has owned several businesses including MedLink Corporation and MedStat Healthcare Services. She spent the majority of her career in the medical services field and currently is an owner/partner at New Vitality Centers. She has served on multiple Boards and works closely with a hands-on dedicated 18-member Board of Directors at the food bank. Mary has led the agency to receive a four-star coveted rating from Charity Navigator which equates to “exceptional” or it “exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in its cause.” She oversees all aspects of the food bank which has grown to distribute over 4 million pounds of supplies and serves 10,000 per month. The agency’s history is not only to fulfill the hunger or food insecurity needs of East Hillsborough residents, but the agency also looks at some or the root causes of hunger and the effects it can have on an individual or family’s health, finances, and job security. Mary has four sons, which include triplet boys that are now 27 years old. Her hobbies include fitness/tennis, nutrition, and cooking.
